I LOVE Lemons (AKA Citrus Limon)...when chosen correctly, the citrus flavor vastly outweighs the tartness. The key, is to choose lemons that are round. The more round, the better the flavor. They are highly versatile and can be used in everything from complex cooking recipes, to household cleaners to simply adding to water for a crisp flavor. (I like to juice lemons into ice cube trays and freeze so I can just drop one into my water jug when I refill.)

They are an excellent source of Vitamins C, B1, B2 & B6; Calcium, Copper, Iron and Potassium. Lemons can also help freshen breath and add extra shine to your hair.

Lemons have many medicinal properties as well:

Electrolyte Balancing

Toxin and Waste Eliminating

pH Balancing

Natural Energizer

Weight-loss Aid

Digestive Aid

Immunity Boosting

May work to prevent rheumatoid arthritis

Anti-viral & Anti-bacterial properties

Promotes healthy skin (fight acne/lighten dark spots)

Can break-up some forms of kidney stones (depending on the cause of the stones)

Soothe tooth-aches

Free-Radical Destroyer (key in fighting inflammation)

Can help control high blood pressure (in addition to diet and lifestyle modifications)

Has been used to help fight cancers

I have personally used lemons in many food recipes and in house-hold cleaning for things like: homemade wood polish and bleaching! Stay tuned for recipes, and love the lemon! A refreshing blast of Spring and Summer anytime of year!
